On May 30th, 2008, the Ames community experienced something that hasn't been this extreme since 1993. Flooding occurred after a night of thunderstorms. Allison and I ran into a bunch of "road closed" signs when we were trying to make our way to Sam's Club. We ended up seeing a lot of things that took our breaths away.

A field that a bunch of horses were in.

Lots of water!

Target on Duff Avenue. A truck taking people out of Target.

I couldn't believe that amount of water that was everywhere!

After our big adventure in Ames, Ally and I decided to go to a State park just a few miles down from Ames. It's called Ledges State Park and we love it.

She's ready!

Wait... I'm not ready. lol

Now I'm ready!

Making our way down the "mountain"

She's smiling now, but just wait!

Shadow shot!

Getting ready to cross the RAGING river.

She was scared... I had to hold her hand!

We're in a little bit

After the big cross.

Ally couldn't believe how deep it was.

Ran into some problems...

Ah dang!

Cleaning off the shoes

The water was very dirty.

Swinging away! And yes, I know I hate a spot on my butt.

I got a little hot and took my shirt off... kinda.

It was SOOOO pretty.

Ally not wanting to cross this one.

I'm not sure what happened.

She had an accident... she couldn't hold it in any longer. Poor baby! =-)

She didn't really pee her pants... I "accidentally" spilled water on her. HA HA HA!

So we almost died going down this "mountain" side because it was muddy with slippery leaves, etc. As you can see... I was sliding my way down.
