Dancing Parties

Let's Dance!
This is probably going to be my favorite blog posting. This posting will most likely get the most updates with pictures. I have tons of friends that enjoy dancing like I do and so as a ritual, we have a dance party every weekend.

March 23, 2007
So I decided to plan a dance party in my room this past Friday night. Called several of my friends telling them to bring their friends and so eventually we had a good portion of girls (and Matt) in my room having a blast. We danced for a good 2 to 3 hours straight to various songs.

So this was by far the highlight of the night. The song "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce came on and Paula and Michelle decided to pull a Beyonce. They did an awesome job at playing along to the song just like Beyonce does in her video. Matt was such a good sport and played along, which made it even more hilarious. If you want to see the video, you can go to: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9LaUkVOnMvc&mode=related&search=
Just copy and paste that link in a new window.

And they keep going... wish I had it on video!

Michelle with her priceless dance moves.

Jesse, who is in WiSE with me, rocking out!

Now the Cha Cha Slide begins...

"How low can you go... can you go down low, all the way to the flo!"

Cha Cha to the left

More Cha Cha... cute face Ann!

Jessica and I - she's from Minnesota and we're going to be
WiSE Peer Mentors together next year!

Jesse and Jessica - Future Roommates!

Oh yeah!

Dancing away...

Okay... there is a story behind these next couple of pics. Ann decided to challenge me with a push up competition to see who could do the most. Ann is in the army so she's in good shape as well as I am. This picture was round 1. We got positioned to begin, but when we went down for the first push up, Ann's right elbow (as you can see) went directly into my right eye. I immediately went down while Ann was trying to stay up, trying not to laugh, but she ended up on the floor as well.

Ann - down on the floor laughing at me while I feel like I had a black eye.

Round two - Ann and I going at it. I eventually beat her... that's what she gets for puncturing my eye!

D'Juan taught Allison and I had to do the "Walk it Out" dance and I am now in love with the dance! Here are some pictures of us, but I also posted a link where you can find a video of us doing "the dance". Just copy and paste it in a new window http://youtube.com/watch?v=xiLFJPpa_QM

D'Juan teaching us how to do the "Walk it Out" dance!

I'm really getting into it there!

A typical dance party in Matt's room.

Work it! Work it! Michelle and I had to break Allison in
because she, at first, wouldn't dance. To this day, she
doesn't stop dancing. YOU GO GIRL!

All of us formed a human train to the song "Choo-Choo Train."
This picture shows just how much fun I was having that night.

Allison, Me and Ann rocking out. This is one of my
favorite pictures!

This shows how everyone is doing their own thing.
From left to right: Paula, Ann, Allison, Zeb, Matt,
Michelle and Sarah.

Best Buds! We have such a great time together!

Michelle, James and I doing the Macarana.
Michelle and I needed to teach James some
dance moves.

Michelle with her "stank face" and I observing
her amazing dance moves. We have such a
good time together! Dancing is our drug!
There goes Clearance! Another friend who
lives in my dorm building. Now he knows
how to move his hips!
I love having fun! I also love my aviators!
Only a dollar on ebay!

Emma Reed,
What the heck are you doing dancin' like that. Don't you know you should be teaching those kids the Bump!! That's right, the Bump. Ask your Mom...she will claim she's not old enough to know, but I know better.
You look wonderful, hope to see you again this summer.
Much love,
The Texans (Got 'cha, didn't I)

In my day (before there was dirt) we spent college time studying, going to class, sitting around discussing the meaning of life, arguing politics, marching on draft boards, studying, and then when we had spare time we would study. I don't see any of that in the pictures. College has become musch easier now that kids know everything.

I also walked to school 10 miles uphill in the snow in both directions.

Love you, know it all -

Grandpa

Hello precious daughter,

It's so nice to see you enjoying life in such a positive environment. Also glad to see you haven't gained the "freshman 40" or whatever the poundage is....

We are so proud of you, Emma. You are making fabtabulous choices and doing so well. You are a remarkable young lady and thank you for being our daughter.

We love you,

Mom & Dad

PS - I am too young to know what the bump is...
