Since I've been here at ISU, I've met so many great people and made some close friends. I have a few friends in particular who make my college life enjoyable.
First up is my sista Allison Bailey
(a.k.a. Boo-Boo):
This girl is a one-of-a-kind. She's from Muscatine, Iowa, which is right underneath the nose of Iowa. She has quite the collection of Muscatine attire and she gladly shares with me. I have so much Muscatine gear that I feel like I should be from there. She's in the ISU Marching Band playing the piccolo. She's majoring in Biology and wants to be a Shamu trainer at Sea World. I promised her I would go to Sea World to see her get flown in the air from a whale's nose. She lives just a few doors down from my room and we've already signed the contract to be roommates for our sophomore year. She's the one that got me listening to Michael Buble, who I like to call Michael Booby because when she told me his name for the first time, that's what I thought I heard. So yeah... Allison has been a true friend to me. She is DEFINITELY a keeper! lol
Next up has to be my home girl Michelle Green:
Michelle was the first person I met here that I knew would be a friend of mine for a long time. Michelle always has a way to make me laugh so hard that I start crying. We've had so many great memories together thus far and I can't wait to find out what the future will bring us. She is from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota majoring in Pre-Med/Exercise Science. She lives just a few doors down from my room and we spend so much time together. We are the ultimate dancing partners... not that we actually dance as a couple, but that we simply dance together. She is one of the best dancers I know and she teaches me new moves on a regular basis. She is the one that got me saying "oh snap" and "for real though." She is also going to be one of my four roommates next year. Michelle is such a great person and means so much to me. I don't think I would've enjoyed my time here at ISU if Michelle wasn't in my life. And then there is Molly McDermott:
I learned that Molly was going to be my WiSE Peer Mentor in the summer before coming to Iowa State. It was nice to communicate with her before actually meeting her so I didn't feel as though I was meeting a complete stranger. As time passed and I was getting to know Molly more on a personal level, I felt as though we had a lot in common. Participating in WiSE events made me realize that I enjoy hanging out with Molly (who I call Molls now) and so soon enough we became close friends. She is a sophomore in Industrial Engineering and has an internship with John Deere for this upcoming summer. She "bleeds green and yellow!" lol She recruited me into Alpha Sigma Kappa sorority and so now we see each other a ton. She, too, is an Iowan and her dad raises over 4000 pigs! I will never forget that because that was the first thing I learned about her. lol Love you Molls!
Then of course there is Ann Wymore:
(a.k.a. My Annster)
Oh Ann! I actually haven't gotten to know Ann until a month or two ago. I met her through Allison because Ann also plays the piccolo in the ISU Marching Band. She is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and is majoring in Chemical Engineering, which I totally look up to her for that! We took Math 142 together last semester, which was a trip! =-) Another thing I look up to Ann for is that she's in the Army so she makes me look bad when we bust out our push-up competition. She is going to be my fourth roommate in the fall so I'm looking forward to seeing her more often. Ann and I love to rock out to "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" and the newest favorite tune to dance to is "Fantasy." Again... dancing is all of our drug. lolGretchen Juber (a.k.a. B-ball Partner)
James Thompson (a.k.a. My BUD-dy):
James is a newy. He just transfered to ISU from New Hampshire this semester and he has been a fun, laid-back guy to hang out with. He has an open major in Engineering and is on the ISU lacross team. He lives on the guy's side on my floor and visits Allison, Michelle and I on a regular basis. He makes one mean banana pancake! James is a very low-key guy who is easy to talk to and how can you not be friends with someone that adorable.
Kevin Friedman (a.k.a. Kevnasty)
